CHALLENGE
The National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE), is a non-profit organization that advocates for educational equality and excellence for bilingual/multilingual students around the world. NABE plans to start acceptance and education for multilingual children as early as possible. Before taking on this project, there was little to no collateral for the children that the organization benefited. Besides solely informing adults, NABE wanted to create a book series that would showcase different cultures while being fun and comprehensive for young multilingual students.
CREATIVE OBJECTIVE
When asked to work on this project, our main objective was to create a children's book series that would explore different cultures and languages around the world that would be comprehensive for the organization's younger students. I was tasked with creating fun and inviting illustrations for this book series as well as researching and writing about important cultural aspects for each book. Each book in the series follows a child from that particular culture and needed character design and illustration work.
